Nate Diaz, the UFC’s prodigal son, is returning to the promotion.
The longtime fan-favorite will fill 50 percent of the Diaz-brothers-shaped gap that’s been a frustrating existence in the UFC.
Nick, the elder the Diaz brothers of California, of Stockton, has not competed in MMA since January 2015. It is nice to have the planet’s leading arts business is rejoined by among those no-nonsense siblings.
The opponent for his comeback fight of diaz is Anthony Pettis, the former UFC champion. He will be hoping this one endings better than his last bout within the Octagon.
Diaz’s final bout led to what you might refer to as a"lose-win scenario" for the today 34-year-old.
In his rematch with Conor McGregor at UFC 202, the Cesar Gracie BJJ black belt dropped by the narrowest of decisions. Disappointing, sure, but at least he got to wipe the tears off his face with a cool $13 million into his purse and earnings.
No wonder he wanted a little time off.
Now, with battling back on his mind, the UFC boy will probably be focusing on Pettis and a chance to re-establish himself in the game.
As with his last two bouts against McGregor, this one will be scrapped at welterweight. Diaz is 2-3 in his last five fights in 170 lbs while Pettis is 1-0 at the UFC at welterweight after an unbelievable win over Stephen Thompson in March.
What a fight we’ve got in store.
