As games are about the board, the MLB is set up using a busy Tuesday night. One of those games place to return will be between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets. These two teams are still in competition to get a wild card spot, which should help lead to an exciting match on Tuesday. This match will start at approximately 7:10 PM Eastern time.
The Diamondbacks have earned a list of 75-69, which includes them sitting in second position of the NL West. Arizona has won eleven of the last two matches down the stretch. If the Diamondbacks could continue to keep up this powerful streak, they can make the playoffs. Arizona is just two games back from the last wild card spot, but can progress with some big road wins in such a collection.
New York has gone 73-70 throughout this year, which has them in place of the NL East. The Mets have won six of the last ten games but will have to pick up it if they would like to sneak to a wild card place. New York is sitting and a half games back in the wild card spot. The Mets will appear to win the next match of this show on Tuesday night.
Both of these teams have had solid seasons and have been in positions to make a playoff drive in this season. Both teams have a little urgency as the season gets closer and closer towards the end. I expect a matchup as both teams seem to win this show to move a step closer to making that wild card spot.
The first series between both of these groups was straight right back between May 31 and June 2. The first game was a close one. J.D. Davis and Carlos Gomez both had RBI’s in the top of the eighth to give New York the late lead. Zach Wheeler got the win as he allowed seven hits and four runs as the Mets won 5-4.
The next game was another one. The Diamondbacks found themselves down 5-1 entering the base of the inning. Eduardo Escobar and ketel Marte both had RBI. Adam Jones hit a two run homer to tie it up. Tim Locastro hit off a walk RBI in the eleventh inning to give Arizona a big 6-5 win.
The series’ third and last match was not nearly as near as the two. Ketel Marte had a home run in his first and three RBI’s. Eduardo Escobar hit a 2 run homer to help prolong the lead to the Diamondbacks. Merrill Kelly earned the win on the mound since Arizona ended the show as he allowed one run and six hits.
The series’ first game was on Monday night. Pete Alonso hit on a homer to open the game in the first inning up. Alonso iced the match at the fifth inning with his second homer of the night, although wilmer Flores hit a homer to make it a 2-1 game. Jacob deGrom allowed three hits and pitched for eight innings and a single run to give the Mets a 3-1 win.
Ketel Marte has experienced a solid season for the Diamondbacks this season. Marte has got 32 home runs, 178 hits and 91 RBI’s. Eduardo Escobar has put up 153 hits, 33 homers and 110 RBI’s. Although Christian Walker has 123 hits nick Ahmed includes 130 strikes, 18 homers and 79 RBI’s, 25 home runs and 63 RBI’s. Carson Kelly and adam Jones equally have over homers this year also.
New York has witnessed an remarkable period from Pete Alonso. He’s 142 strikes, 47 home runs and an OPS of all .956. Amed Rosario has 158 hits although Jeff McNeil has 147 hits, 18 home runs and 65 RBI’s. Michael Conforto has put up 127 strikes, 29 home runs and 81 RBI’s. Wilson Ramos, J.D. Davis, Todd Frazier, along with Robinson Cano all have double digit homers as well this season.
That I feel that the Mets have a slightly better lineup, although Both of these teams have solid hitting lineups. Alonso was dangerous this season and it showed in last nights matchup. If Arizona’s pitching team can find a means to slow Alonso down on Tuesday night, I think that they could pull off a triumph.
Zac Gallen will begin on Tuesday night. Gallen has set a 3-4 listing through 13 starts this year. He has made an ERA of 2.50 and a WHIP of 1.229 through those starts. Gallen start came from the San Diego Padres, in which he allowed one hit and no runs through seven innings to earn his third win of the year.
Zack Wheeler are the starting pitcher for New York. Wheeler has gone 10-7 throughout his 27 starts this year. He has put a 4.33 ERA and a WHIP of 1.311. Wheeler’s last start came from the Washington Nationals. He earned his tenth win of the season because he allowed seven hits and one run through five innings pitched.
These two pitchers are strong this year. Gallen has put up the stats that were better, but he’s played in the games as Wheeler. Wheeler has a solid record and earned a win. Gallen had a no decision in his start.
Both of these teams have gone. Both groups are much less than five matches back from the wild card spot. I think that Arizona has got a chance to take the series lead with a win on Tuesday night. Gallen is a pitcher that is strong and I enjoy his odds to slow New York. The Diamondbacks need to get the bats going, but when they can, I believe they’ll win the second game of this set.
BetOnline has New York. This means that the Mets will win this match around 56.5 percent of their moment. I believe that this game needs to be much closer to even. I enjoy the Diamondbacks opportunities to win, which makes them a choice for Tuesday night.
